Camping out at The Island.....

Memorial Week-end started out with Andy, Mark and Bob camping out at "The Island" Saturday Afternoon into Sunday Afternoon - Ashley was here at the farm, so we joined in for some of the fun and swimming.

Then Monday, we had a cook-out at the house - Steve and Linda brought some of their wonderful prize-winning bbq'd ribs - plus salads and to top it all off, strawberry shortcake....Then Kelly, Bill, Ashley, Andy, Bob and Mark, and oh yes, Terri - took the boat back up to the island and went swimming again.

A nice week-end - memories!

All set up - tent, sleeping bags, coolers full of food, gas stove, fishing poles - all ready for fun...

Maybe the most fun of camping out is eating - and eating - and eating.....

Swimming at "The Island"......A favorite place for the children, starting with Steve and Terri....Terri used to bring her horse up here and ride out in the water. Then the grandchildren - we used to come up here on the pontoon for "Grandmother's Day", build a fire and have a weiner roast, and splash around in the water. The water is maybe knee-deep, a rock bottom with sand and gravel at the edges - just right for these little guys. And now the grandchildren are bringing their children to this special place.

When Hoosier Energy was surveying a new route through the farm, I made them go around "The Island".....

Splashing and swimming.....Bear had been in the water with them, but guess she got tired, as she found her a spot in the shade and went to sleep.

Playing around the pontoon - getting ready to break camp and load up....

All loaded up and heading for home
